I had never even looked at Craig's List, but I have a trailer hitch to sell, and a couple of people told me to try it. I've gotten three replies, and they are all strange. The one from yesterday is below.

Hi
I am out of town today & tomorrow morning, but could meet with you tomorrow afternoon or Monday anytime,.i belive meeting with you to see it before discussing on price wont be a problem,, what price do you have in mind to sell it last? email me at cordioaz921@yahoo.com,. Also if you want me to call you , leave me your number and let me know when would be a good time to call you.
Have a blessed evening.

The one I got the day before said he was in Florence, and his father was having heart surgery "this sec." All of them have mentioned discussing the price - which I listed with the item. I told the first person that I would meet him in town at the Nissan dealer - never heard back.
Any idea why people would do this?

They are fishing for replies..... If you reply to those ads. They get your email address from the reply and you'll start receiving spam mail. I sell a lot on craigslist and never replied to them. I also have a separate email address made up for anything I sell online.

In my town, police setup a safe area to meet that can be monitored for the buying or selling of items from places like Craig's List.
Be Cautious.

The question is from Craig's List, and the reply goes through them. They have all asked for my email address and phone number, so I guess that's the point.

Not sure, I used Craig's List only once many years ago to sell a cell phone and it went smoothly.

I don't think there is a way to delete on QRZ. Maybe QTH, I have an ad there now..
I have sold a lot of things on C-List, and I do not respond to 'broken English', 'questions already answered' or 'poor grammatically composed' emails asking for anything. I use a secondary email for only C-List ad responses, you should see the amount of spam just from linking it to them!
I meet people only at the local police department, and I have a CC license(and I don't leave home without it). Take no checks or money orders, and I purchased one of those counterfeit pens(be sure to look for the 'strip' in the bill too).
So, after proof reading this, I sound paranoid! But I haven't been 'taken to the cleaners'....

I like the part about meeting at the police station.
