There's always something going on in the City, and I'll try to capture some of that excitement here.

I find the best time to get shots is either when things are hopping, like around Times Sq or Herald Sq or other locations, or an hour before daybreak, when the place is a relative ghost town.

One morning I happened to be in the city during Christmas week to see the Rock Center Tree, and I drove by Radio City Music Hall, and the animal handlers were taking the goats, camels and other critters that are used in in the Christmas show out for a brief walk. I didn't have my camera out and when I drove around the block they had already been taken inside.

I took these last week at Rock Center just before dawn.

All excellent shots, Gene. Thanks for sharing. I find that it's good to have your camera with you at virtually all times because, in New York City, you never know when a new opportunity for a great photo arises :) St. Patrick's Cathedral is especially great. Again, thank you for sharing :)

I guess those cylindrical objects are what you tie your horses to?
Seriously - great pics of a vibrant place in the world - I've never been across the pond - and love pics of the Grand Canyon etc - but yours are full of interest for me.

Are you in the business of amplifying electrical signals? :)

Thank you Delderby. I've never been 'across the pond', as you say, nor have I been to the Great Great Grand Canyon National Park to see that awesome display of nature. What I have seen is what faces me each day, and I am utterly delighted to be able to faithfully capture my City and display it for the world's admiration. I thank my camera for this ability. :) Thank you once again.

Yes Jim, the 24 PC-E - its a pretty decent lens - probably one of best corrected and sharpest wide angle lenses I have used - the shift worked beautifully when shooting St. Patrick's Cathedral from across the street - for that shot I wish I owned a Canon and had their oustanding 17 tilt shift - excuse me, I have to go wash my hands for writing that :)
