Served my time building marine diesel engines. Sulzer was the most popular although we also built Doxford, Werkspoor, B&W and any other main engine the ship owners wanted.
When the engines were running on the test bed, the large machine shop had to stop cutting as the vibrations through the ground was causing a chatter on their finish.
Uh .... wow, talking about big boy toys, ..... and I thought the 427 CI engine in my AC Cobra was big. I'm startin' to feel pretty puny here
Too bad these huge ships can't install nuke power like aircraft carriers. I guess the cost is prohibitive, and then there is the threat of being threatened.

It's one thing for the military to have nuclear power, but cost-conscious private companies? I don't know.
