Two weeks ago I posted here a shot of a female Eastern Phoebe sitting in her nest atop the glass globe on our porch light. Since then, hubby Phoebe has been busy. He perches in our mimosa tree about 25-30 feet from our front window, darts off, presumably to catch more insects, returns, looks around, and darts off again. He's a heckuva difficult target for me to "catch" with my Lumix FZ200. There is little time to focus. He's a twitchy bird, known for his flying skills and for a tail that jerks up and down all the while he's sitting and scouting for bugs from his perch. What's more, I had to shoot through the window, which never produces ideal results. I began to feel like Jimmy Stewart in "Rear Window." (That reference will puzzle the Millennials on this site.)
