A bit of info that might be useful.
Locals in this area often refer to these as "mountain ivy" and incorrectly(?) refer to the rhododendron as laurel.

The colors vary from very white with red veining to mostly red, with pink seeming to be more common at the higher elevations.

Thanks for your clarification really enjoyed finding
them Our elevation at the location of the bush
is approx 2500ft have only seen the white and pink
at 3000ft
