if you had a older lens [ zoom ] that has enough dirt inside , where would you send it to get the lenses inside clean . there has to be a small place that would do that without breaking the bank ???
Have to be an awful lot to affect any images from it...

Try Midwest Camera Repair(Michigan).
I've sent them one of my big somewhat rare and expensive lenses because they have a lot of experience with it and spare non-working copies they can cannibalize. Good luck. ;-)

This maybe of some help. There is a UHH member that repairs cameras and lens a good prices. Sorry, I can't remember the member's name. Hope someone will jumop in with the needed info.

It would be easier to give you a suggestion if we knew where you were located.
If you live in the southeastern U.S., I would recommend KEH. (
www.keh.com) They buy, sell, and repair cameras, lenses, and accessories. I haven't need a repair of anything from them, but everything I have bought from them, new or used (used equipment in LN or EX condition), has been excellent.

I had a couple of lenses cleaned just recently. I took them to Tempe Camera.
http://www.tempecamera.biz/Joe did a fantastic job on them. Keep in mind not all lenses can be disassembled and cleaned. It depends on where the spots are within the lens itself.

BOB and others , thank you for your answer , will investigate .used to shot pentax [ since the 70 s ] , now i ended up with 2 nikons dlsr , got a fotodiox adaptor to use some older pentax mounts on nikon , if i use prime lenses [ 28 50 135 ] the adaptor works well [ manual mode ], if i use any kind of zoom lenses , when you pass f8 on the way up , i end up with a donut shape soft spot on the middle of picture , so i can only go from wide open to f8 . so , i found a spot less kiron 28 / 105 nikon mount on e bay , look like it has never been on a camera [ cheap ] there is a lens at the middle that is covered with what look like tiny oil drops , [ from diaphragm ?? ] that is where i am , the rest of lens is like new .the other question , i have a perfect vivitar serie 1 28 /105 f2.8 pentax mount , looks just like the kiron , can the mount be replaced to a nikon , even if i loose the auto diaphragm , would work like a T mount .sorry for the war and peace story .
Sounds like outgassing from the lubricants. Yes, you will have to have it serviced...As for converting mounts, if it can be done, it would be expensive & I would only try it on higher quality lenses, not that Kiron ( I have one in Nikon mount & it's just an average performer)

first of all, is it showing up on your images? if not, don't bother. if something is showing up on your images, chances are your sensor needs cleaning.
