I have used a Leica m3 since the 1960s, and decided to try digital. Just purchased a D3300 w 18-55 and a 55-200 lens. So I am in a real learning mode for all the auto features, it will be interesting to see if I like it or not. (I am not going to miss buying film though)

Go to Amazon or Barnes & Noble and buy David A Busch's Guide to the Nikon D3300. It will give you a complete breakdown of all functions and settings for that camera. Read it and Take lots of pictures.

Welcome to the Hog and to the wonderful world of digital photography,
Carguy. Not only will you not have to load film you will not have to waste a half roll of film when you need a faster or slower film for a specific venue. Simply change your ISO (ASA in film) and continue shooting. ;)

Welcome to UHH.
I miss film also, but I like being able to see results immediately, have lots of memory cards, and be able to edit without a darkroom!

Welcome to UHH Carguy1, glad you joined us. You will enjoy the digital camera world. A lot cheaper than film and you see your image now. You do your PP on your computer instead of your darkroom.
Have fun, learn and enjoy the forum.

Don
