It seems that all the denizens of the small world are active today. Here is a varied selection. Posting five images. Please try the downloads.

Help me out Tigger; I am stacking as near as I understand the term. I have my subjects in critical focus and the backgrounds out of focus and that's what I wanted. I purposefully use shallow depth of field so as not to have the background detract from the subject. What am I doing wrong or do I not understand???

Never mind Tigger, I just grabbed a quick tutorial on it and I see what you were referring to; no all I need to do is study this and see if i can get er done. Thanks for the input! :-D :-D

More glorious shots, Jim. The dragon in the emerald green setting is a beautiful sight to see. I think your little butterfly is another kind of skipper maybe a dusky wing but not sure.

#1 is so pretty!

That's not a daddy long-legs, though. They are arachnids with quite small bodies and 8 legs. This looks like a flying insect of some sort.

Re your (perhaps rhetorical) question about what to do in order to catch up with the number of comments that Erv and I have posted: I would suggest giving up work and family, but Erv still has both so I don't know... I guess he just never sleeps! (me, I have no other life :) )

Thank you so much Donna, really glad you liked these. I know I should take more time to identify these species, but I'm stealing minutes in every day to get done what I'm able. Will be as retired as I'm ever going to get in about another month though and I should be able to devote more time to this hobby. Thanks again my friend. :-D :-D

Thanks Linda and it is a giant mosquito of some kind, colloquially called a daddy long legs but you're right it isn't the arachnid daddy longlegs; now to the somewhat rhetorical question, I'll just keep plugging away, but then so will you and this is like the Daytona 500 and I'm a couple years behind LOL, no worries I'm just having fun with the time available. :-D :-D

Moving things, things with wings, wings that sing (well, it may be called buzzing where you're from) - seems like you have enough to keep busy for a while Jim. Whether you have time for it or not is another story ......

Stealing more time as each day passes Bob, today was extraordinary with all the activity and I have about 50 more of bees working the magnolia blossoms that I'll try to work up a couple of tomorrow. Thanks for your support my friend. :-D :-D
