What is your thoughts on this issue from Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare (ACA)?

I won't make fun of your grammar (what are your thoughts...), but you're not going to be able to replace Obamacare. It's been in place too long, and too many people are enrolled now.

It is a mess, but we are stuck with it. The problem never was to provide competition from insurance companies for cheaper insurance - the problem is the master charge lists of hospitals. The problem is that there is no regulation for these highly profitable not-for-profits. Two dollars for an aspirin, ten dollars for what the master charge list calls a mucous clearing device (a box of kleenex), thirteen thousand dollars for a single dose of a cancer drug, seventy seven dollars for a roll of gauze. In no other country in the world does the government allow hospitals to make such exorbitant profits (although, in all other countries, hospitals are allowed to make very good profits).

Obamacare addressed none of the obvious problems in our healthcare system (which is one of the worst in the civilized world). Should it be repealed and replaced? Yes. Will it? No.

And ultimately, the fault is ours.

Was not Obamacare from it's inception, supposed to be a work in progress that can be improved upon?

I looked at the link, expecting something new and significant, a conservative plan to replace Obamacare. It contained nothing, except tax breaks.

I am not sure what people dislike so much about ACA, except that it came during the Obama administration. It is not a government run program. It is, as it always was, a private insurance program run by private insurance companies. Not that that is a good thing either.

The ACA requires the private insurance companies to provide good coverage, not minimal coverage some cheap polices contained, it makes the insurance companies insure people with pre-existing conditions. I can't see what is wrong with either of these. What is the problem conservatives have with it? They never specify what they don't like.

Is that really your belief, the gov't runs it because they collect fines? Also, are we not really talking the merits or shortfalls of ACA?

Many are for repeal or replacement. I would like to think that most should be able to agree that something other than total gov't subsidy for those with no insurance needs to be addressed. Instead of moaning and groaning, why are there not constructive changes being implemented.

Time to knock off the politics and resolve this important issue that affects so many. Fix what needs to be fixed and move on.

We are talking at this moment about who runs it. The Govt runs it, it was put forth by Uncle Sam, v**ed upon and put into existence by the Govt.
As far as the shortfalls you are absolutely correct. But when have our representatives actually represented us as well as they represent the top 10%?

The problem was that the Democrats did not represent the American public on this bill, 67%-70% of Americans were opposed to the ACA being passed in it's current condition at the time before the Democrats rammed it down our throats with no Republican support. Even if it was a good bill, it should not have been rammed through without public support. I would not even care if I supported a bill, if the majority is not in support of a bill, I will honor the majority of the public and not pass it.

Good point: "...As far as the shortfalls you are absolutely correct. But when have our representatives actually represented us as well as they represent the top 10%?"

I take this to refer to each parties representatives. Sad,but true. Or rather, true and sad.

Bottom line is knock off the crap and fix it. Together. For the people you represent. Good luck with that thought!
:-)

I thought that an interesting part of some of the surveys showed that almost none of those interviewed had a clue about the program.  ...the powerful American v**er.
