Very good action shots, cropping perfect. Brings the action right up in your face. Good job. Settings??
Best, Jules
Thanks to all for the comments and critiques.
As I recall I cropped the first one and it was taken with my 70-300mm f3.5 Nikon Lens.
Others with 50mm f1.8 Prime lens.
I am using a Nikon D-610, Shutter Mode around 1/640 sec Aperture was around 2.8, white balance was cloudy and iso was on auto floating around 200-400 as I recall when chimping a few of the shots.
it was a very hot sunny day, glad I was not in football pads.....every time I take photos I learn something either good or bad...part of the fun of taking photos.
I am blessed that the Coaches have allowed me very up close positions right beside them during practices and on the side lines during games.
I will be 75 in June, bad back, osteoporosis, so not as mobile as I would like. Last year at practice, I got bowled over and landed on the camera cracking a rib. I am a little more cautious now. A big thing and a big ego reward is the kids love me, call me Pop's they can't wait until I post their photos, most of them use them on their iPhones or Facebook page as their profile photos...Now when at practice two or so kids not in a play waiting for their turn will stand close by, if a play comes my way the kids will either grab me and turn me away or throw a shoulder pad to the incoming player to avoid me getting hit.
The coaches take the photos we post, some have been used on program booklets, school year book and a slide show made for the end of season banquet. I enjoy helping make memories for them...
I no longer have grandson's playing football, many of the kids from school call me and ask...Pop's you coming to football this year...and of course I say yep if the ole body will get up and go.
Excuse my rambles, just an old man trying to use a camera and have fun....it is an awesome hobby, I have had many....they keep the protein flowing in the ole brain cells.
Blessings to All.
