Be honest, trying to figure out which one I want to put on Canvas and give my daughter for her birthday. I think I like this one, but any opinions would be great. thanks. I like this one because there are no people and I think the birds add a nice touch. But what do you think of the palm on the right side?
I think the palm is fine. It's a beach shot and a palm would be expected at the beach. I find the rectangular dark area (shadow, towel?) more of a distraction (most likely because I don't know what it is and it seems to interrupt the flow of the pic). Maybe that could be cloned out?
If you are doing a canvas wrap, you need to take into account the wrap part that will eat into your photo leaving precious room around the beach shack.
I like the pic but clone out the shadow....
Its a good picture.

I agree about the shadow/towel on the sand, I would clone it out and I think it's good to go.
Are you doing a wrap? as MT Shooter pointed out the wrap is going to eat up a lot of the outter edge leaving the shack pretty close to the edge.
Try cropping out all except the shack, make it portrait style and leave enough space for wrap. Like you, I don't care for the tree. Great birds. Perhaps sign name closer to colour of sand or sky rather than bright white. Have fun.

I mean good points! All of them. Will work at it and put it up again......... Sometimes when I get Canvas work done they print the whole image and use only white around the edges. Then I float the in a frame. Thanks everyone!

i think the palm tree is neccesary to locate the photo in a tropical enviornment. otherwise the lighthouse could be located on the great lakes. the tree adds flavor. the shadow doesn't
Good point but suspect not a lot of coral coloured buildings or azure aquamarine seas on the great great lakes this time of year!

Jean, I think this was more what the posters had in mind about the shadow. Not necessarily cropping the whole pic.
I agree with MT. That's exactly what I had in mind.
Yeah! thanks for all of your help. You know, I took 5 years of film school, (this may or may NOT make me look like a good photographer), in film a million years ago. And my favorite part was when I wasn't happy with a photo and wasn't sure why, nothing better than putting it out there and having feedback. Thanks again so much... It may seem like simple things that I should have thought of, but I didn't and you all helped! I have to admit, I love this digital world. Just don't tell my old professors I said that!
