Just finished a class on Elements 12 and really like the program. Just purchased a new camera (Canon 7D Mark II) and can not open RAW files. Subscribed to Photoshop CC and can now open RAW files but don't like the program. Will Elements 13 open my files and if not will a new elements be showing up soon? Can't seem to find this information on the Adobe site. bud

According to the info in below, you can use PSE 13, but you will need to update it after installing.

Another thought is to use the software that came with the camera if it converts to something PSE 12 can use, such as tiff.

Thanks Linda, I will buy Elements 13. I have been busy trying to cancel Photoshop CC and must say it is a lot easier to sign on than to sign off. Spoke to a gentleman with bad English and not sure what he said, We will see.

Bud, give yourself some time to get comfortable with CC, eventually you will see the benefits and how much better the images will be. Elements 13 is quite a downgrade from CC. It's like buying a new car - things are in different places, it handles differently, etc. But after a while it's all good.

Thank you Gene. I was disappointed when I found elements would not open my raw files and I am busy trying to learn the complex menu on a new camera. I want to be able concentrate on the camera. Once I digest that I will look at CC, Lightroom, and Bridge bud

You'll find that the learning curve is not as long as you think, especially since you are already comfortable with PSE. Good Luck!

I agree with Gene. Lightroom and Photoshop CC are light years ahead of elements. They will do everything elements does and so much more.

You may never learn all there is to know about Photoshop, but you can become proficient in normal photo editing in a couple of weeks.
