Olympus problem

I have an Olympus E-500 and recently when I put it in Aperture mode, it won't let me set the aperture. I have corresponded with Olympus on this by email and they advise that this is not a known problem. Before I call them to discuss would anyone have any ideas of what to try? Shutter Priority works just fine.

Have you tried pulling the lens off and cleaning the contacts? Have you tried a different lens?

Seems like a possible camera-lens communication problem.

When you put the camera in P-mode and perform a program shift via the dial, can you get the aperture to change?

Yay...love it when suggestions work. I used to shoot an e500.. An oldie, but a goodie, especially the Kodak sensor colors.

Check you preprogram modes may have entered something by mistake or need to delete if corrupted.
