Yes, it was a bit cold.
Got 2 " of snow while I was there.
Made for nice photos Corolyn.

I like the panorama of the upper section of town of Bodie that is near the parking lot very much. It is very evident that there were few others visiting that day because of the snow fall.

When I visit I do my best to get there early before it gets overly crowded, which occurs around noon time and gets less crowded around three. It can be very frustrating and trying of ones patience to get set up for a shot and then someone either steps in front of you or unexpectedly comes through a door just as you press the shutter.

I also like the image of the church because of the perspective and the way you isolated it from its surroundings.

Thanks for looking.
Yes, 2 inches of snow that morning.
It kept the visitors down to a minimum.
I felt pretty lucky about that. By afternoon the
snow had melted.

Thanks Amy.
This is one of the few places I don't mind showing
my vacation photos. Seems like only photo bugs
enjoy this sort of thing.. Haa.

Last year during the month of May we had snow in the Sierra's
four times and when I finally was able to go to Yosemite and Lee Vining it was raining and snowing in Yosemite on the day I arrived and for a total of two days. The Tioga Pass road, highway 120, was closed until the morning I had planned to travel over the pass to the East side and Mono Lake.

There was plenty of snow to really enhance my pictures of the Sierra Crest and peaks and it made for some great scenery.

Yeah, sounds like a great time.
Did you post some photos?
I started at Mono Lake and went on to Bodie the
next morning. I had to take the 109 across to get into
The Park for the same reason. It's open now.

The Tioga wasn't closed because of snow. It was closed because of rocks. Talk about a huge headache. Ouch

Thanks very much for looking.
Glad you enjoyed them.
I need to go your way too.

We are so blessed to live in a country with so much
beauty to see. Every area has it's own from sea to
shining sea.

You are so right. There is just so much to see and do. I have a sister that lives in Seattle....she's one of the "fixers extrordinaire" on the show Flea Market Flip. She keeps after me to come out for a visit. One of these days.

I posted this panorama here on UHH last year of the view looking west coming out of Bodie --- it was taken at the point where the pavement begins.
