I found the Ugly Hedgehog because of a link. I forget how I found it.
Well, the link said click here for a weird trick that will improve your photography. Well I ended up here and started wondering how to get that one trick.
I ended up registering, still looking for evidence of that trick. I figured it would come in an email.
I got several emails--the daily new active topics email--but no trick.
Well, the bottom line is that during my time here, I've gotten a lot of information that has improved my photography--much better than any 'trick'. I have to laugh every time I come across that link.(saw it today on Dpreview)

The "trick" is learning through informed conversation in the forum. Taking advantage of other peoples knowledge, or lack thereof!

I wouldn't trade a minute of the time I have spent here learning and the friends I have made for a barrel full of monkeys...and I've learned a few 'weird photography tricks' during my sojourn through these threads. I joined because of the same link and it makes me giggle every now and then too, but talk about being suckered in. Now we know how many of us were born at the same time!!!

pretty good trick email played on you. i think this site is more like a mind trip. you encounter problems from other peoples problems before they happen to you. an when it does youre ready. sometimes even figure out what mite happen before it does as the practice progress's. only problem this place is addictive. i did a photography group search
