It seems as though the moon is an easy target. How does Earth not get plastered like that?

We have an atmostphere.. otherwise we would. :)

Thanks for the link, and for your service. My father was a Seabee (Carpenter's Mate 1c) on Okinawa during WWII. I'm a retired Navy airedale (six aircraft carriers) and also a Vietnam vet.

The earth has several craters caused by meteors.
