They certainly are striking structures, which do need quite a lot of maintenance doing on them.
I like both your photographic compositions, in which you have capture quite a lot of detail. I particularly like the first photograph were the tonal range in the sky almost interacts with the roof of the barn.
I do hope they can receive some work to put them in order.
Well taken.

It looks like the first one has a new roof. The second needs new everything. You'd think something so big and important would receive batter maintenance.

I really like the second one, but I am not a fan of HDR. Just my personal viewpoint.

These are great shots. You have captured their essence. I love the 2nd one best because it has the most detail. But the first stands alone well. It is too bad that most of these old structures are being let go to rot. Looks like someone is caring for the first one with a new roof.

Nice finds. Wish we had a barn or two near here. I bet the second barn was a hay barn, with machinery storage/parking in the lower part. Wide doors from 2 directions, and a huge hay loft above. And hay ain't handled like that anymore.

I strongly prefer the second shot. I like the composition - the angle of the barn and the surrounding structures and foliage that add interest. Also the second barn, because of its poor condition, has added character. Well done on both.

I love both shots and they are well composed. I am curious about shot 2 with the cow. Did you use auto focus? When I down load it appears that the fence post and wire is sharp while the remainder of the shot has slight blur. Was the shot taken at F 4.5 or wider? Just curious.

Hi Jerry. Thanks for looking. There is not a lack of photo ops for these old barns. These farmers need to start a fund for "Help Save Me".
