To whom it may concern,

I am a 30 year friend of Richards, he goes by harclod, here on this forum. Since he left his this forum with himself still logged on, I thought I would let everyone who were friends with Richard know that he passed away Saturday afternoon from another major heart attack, about 2 hours away from his home. He told me he was going on another trip to find barns to photograph. We do know that he decided to stop his chemo treatments, but don't know if that had anything to do with his passing, although he wasn't feeling well when he left town.

The sheriff found his body in his vehicle along the side of the road. I and a friend went up to retrieve his equipment and his vehicle on Sunday after receiving a call from the sheriff department.

Richard was a wonderful person, caring and loving everyone he came in contact with. The type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, or his last meal if you needed it. He truly loved everyone he knew and will be missed very much so.

To all who knew and cared about Richard, may you keep him in your memory for all eternity. He is now with his Savior.

God Bless everyone here that were friends with Richard. He talked quite frequently about many of you here on this forum.

Peace be with you all, and thanks for truly being his friend.

There will be no service for him per his instructions in his will.

I had just sent a PM to him asking about more barn photos since I had not seen any.

He and his beautiful photos will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'll miss his barn pictures. It was just a few weeks ago that he told us of his decision to stop his chemo treatments.

Thank you for telling us. Otherwise, we'd never know.

What a great time to go doing what we love to do best. We old timers can really appreciate that situation. We will miss the barn pictures but know he is without pain now. RIP friend.

I was just getting to know Richard. I loved his barns and saved many to his file so that I could go back and look at them over and over. I hope some day to use their shapes in paintings of my own. Not copying his photos but using the shape of the barns only. He will live on in this artist's memory.

I'm truly saddened. I knew in my head that his health was not good. In my heart, I wanted him to be able to continue on, doing what had become his passion. I will miss him. We were friends.
