Thought I would share a few photos from Top Gun in Lakeland, FL from Friday. This is one of the premier RC plane events in the country! Hope you enjoy!
Wonderful set. RC planes are amazing.
Some of the R/Vs now are just amazing things.

Thanks! They keep getting bigger and bigger. One of the last planes I had was a 42% of full scale. 122" wing span.

Very nice set Allan! It brings back memories.
I used to fly R/C in NJ and later MA from about 1965 - 1986. You may not remember those days, but R/C helicopters had not yet been introduced in '65 and were just starting to be seen in the late 70's. The hobby had just converted to 72 MHZ in the early '80's. Did you know that the helicopter rescue scenes in "The Towering Inferno" movie were done with a Model? A guy from the club in Ipswich, MA was a pioneer and MA flew it; unfortunately I don't remember his name. Jet engines were still in the future for modeling. In the '80's new engine things were wankle rotaries and the use of chain saw engines on big models.
My trip down memory lane. We were the early drones :-D !
Those are fantastic planes. Detail is unreal. I'd love to go to one of these big meets for the first hand experience.
thanks for sharing your superb photos.

Thanks for the trip, however, I stated flying U-control in '55. I do remember those days and the advent of radio control and especially those chain saw engines. lol
