Great shots I've never seen before. You really can't beat a large negative for sharpness and clarity. I couldn't read the text, though. It was all garbled - like it was written with another alphabet.
Not only did women built these planes, they also flew them to their destinations.
Sorry, I think it's in Russian - Here's the translation complements of Google Translater
4x5 Kodachromes
I often go to the site
www.shorpy.com inspired color Kodahroma. The site is widely known for its archival photographs, so it is unlikely he will be opening for you. But now I wanted to make a selection chosen to hand was on the same page and in good quality. Perhaps you too would be interested. All images were made in 1940-1943. Signatures transfer did not, because what is bad and I'm afraid I can misquote. But in general, all so clear. Look, we soak.
Wow! Thanks for the link!
I'm surprised they were 4x5 and not quarter plate (which I had always thought was more common) but these are SUPERB propaganda photographs.
Cheers,

I`ll confirm it for you...it is Russian !
Thanks for sharing...Awesome shots...
Such clarity and depth....
Thank you for sharing!
While some what posed these photos do reflect what was happening during that period of time. I like to see "captured" history of any era recorded by a photograph. A picture is worth a 1000 words...amen to that.
I have always marveled at how ordinary "snap shots" of individual family activities, over the decades, become family treasures to others.
Keep on clicking..............
I wonder what was involved it shooting these? Obviously a 4x5 camera. Probably flash bulbs - were there strobes back then? And the pic of the tank - with the splashes of mud 'frozen' - using film with a speed of maybe 10. . . wow!
