Did you know you can get a CarFax report on a car using the license plate number? I didn't until a few months ago. Even before I found out about that I would obliterate the license plate on a car that I photographed just because I'm paranoid.
BTW, if you ever sign up for the CarFax unlimited reports for 30 days, that only applies to searching the license number. If you use the VIN, it is only five searches. I found that out the hard way when I was looking to purchase a used car not too long ago.
