Oriental Lilly. Opinions please.

This is my second attempt at close up photography and all of the positive remarks on my first attempt have encouraged me to try some more.

The garden lady here at my apartment complex who takes care of the courtyard, planted this telling me it is an Oriental Lilly.

On my first attempt one of the great hoggers (and please forgive me I can't remember who it was) here in the close up forum advised I try using +/- exposure compensation. Here are my images with the first at normal exposure, the second at -1/2, and the final one at -1. Which do you think looks best? Personally I like #3, as the flower just seems to jump out at me and the background very subtle.

Thanks for looking; Michael

They appear to be a tad out of focus Michael...maybe if you post them in Download so we can see a bigger pic...
When you upload a pic, click on the (store original) box...
Cheers,
Ron.

Dad gummit, I meant to do that and realized my mistake after posting and I couldn't figure out how to get back into my post to check the download box. Sorry

Yes, I haven't posted too many photographs so I just need to slow down a little bit and develop a work flow when I do it.

Michael, I think the first one looks better--JMO. I agree with Ron's comments. I'll send you a PM later with a few tips on close ups (if you don't tell me to get lost, lol). :-)

That won't happen. I have seen your images and they are stellar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Ron. I was using my 60D with a new to me Tamron 90mm macro lens, and I shot the image using auto focus and it seemed to look good to my tired old eyes on my monitor. Maybe on the next one I should try manual focus and see if it turns out better.

Yep, I realized I didn't check the download box after I had posted them and couldn't figure out how to redo it. Won't make that mistake again for sure. Thanks for the comment.
