I love photographing the pro surfers at Lower Trestles. All the activity that surrounds the event is also fun to photograph.

Stunning set of surfing shots Brent. I also love the capture in No3. He's obviously enjoying himself. LoL.

Hey Brent, very nice set of shots. You did great catching the waves behind the subject as well such as in 1,2 and 6. Cool!

Brent,

Great fan in number six, well frozen. Fine surfer position, well cropped; a keeper! Good set overall.

MWojton, I'm guessing you are a warm blooded heterosexual man that is fairly normal! Thanks for your comment!

Thanks Jim for liking that photo so much. I have a formula for shooting surfers in action to freeze the water and surfer: shoot at 1000th of a sec. I can even hand hold my telephoto and not worry about movement too!

Thanks Tom for you insightful comments. You are right about the spray in #16. I got lucky! When I shoot surfers I put my camera on full FPS and I call it "machine gun mode". You never know what you will come up with and often times you have to delete the bad ones, but when you get a good one like this, it's worth it! And your are also right about the girl in #3 not having a surfboard. Often times a cute girl like that will be the GF of one of the surfers and she doesn't even surf.
