B, C, A.
I'm looking at tonal contrast between subject and background. A has least of this, therefore last place. B comes closer to a complimentary color scheme than C. That's why B is my first choice.

Dave, none of them looks very natural. But of the 3 I'll go with A. The other two don't look like colors that one generally finds in nature. Just my opinions. ;-)

A. the tonal range of the background compliments the subject better.
B. Less complementary, but acceptable.
C. The colour of the background on this one does not suit the subject at all.

I would choose C,A,and B. I chose C first because to me the background is a more natural color but still offers a nice contrast to the birds face.
