It's just a regular shoulder support, not a gun mount!

Fantastic idea! Try using one of them in a crowded location. :D

Had one once. Got rid of it. Wish I had it now! Especially since I just got a huge, heavy "Bigma."

Hi John. I got one from Dennis ( User name Morrisdh) and I love it for the 150-500 and the 80-400. He makes them him self. Take a look for his posts on it or PM him. It has really helped with my long shots. And has really improved my Moon shots! A very solid piece!!! Oh, he calls it the Sure Shot!

I just bought one to help support my new Tammy 150-600 but it is very flimsy and can't deal with the weight of the lens. No matter how tightly I lock it down, the weight still makes the whole rig shift. I was planning to return it but thought it might help steady my Sigma 18-300 with a 2x extender if I used my monopod with the attachment. I'll try it this weekend and then decide.

My contraption weights out at 1 lb 6.9 oz. My camera, Sony a6000 + strap, cones in at 1 lb 1.05 oz. Ain't no flimsy there.

My Canon 7D with the Tammy 150-600 weighs over 8 lbs. The plastic/nylon rig just isn't up to it.

I find that these shoulder mount solutions work OK with lighter camera/lens combos - not so well for the heavier over 6 lb. varieties.

I have built and used the unit below ( crutchstock) ......but nowadays, I use a bodypod with facial stabilization instead. See my UHH topics for bodypod and facial stabilization.

Try an Amazon search for "shoulder camera support"; shows quite a few of them starting at $25 (more than 5 pages of them)

Have one just like this one but older with metal parts. I shortened it up some and put a new electric trigger on to replace the cable. It works really well, usually use a canon 300mm 2.8 on it. I'm now installing a see through red dot gun site on the hot shoe so it will operate just like a rifle.
