Yesterday, my Osprey photo was published in the Coeur d' Alene Press newspaper, which serves a metro area of 100,000 population. They wanted to pick the best wildlife photos in this area of North Idaho to attract people to our area. This recent photo was taken on 4/5/15 in a wilderness park in the Coeur d' Alene area. This was taken with a 150-600mm Tamron lens @ 600mm on a Canon 7D MkII camera at a distance of about 125-150 feet. There were no prizes or monetary rewards, just recognition.
Newspaper published photo.

Well done! Based on this published photo, there may be a local market for your wildlife photography.

Thank you, Douglas. In northern Idaho, where I live, there is a lot of wildlife in the area covered with 85% forest with many large lakes and mountains, so there should be a demand for good wildlife and scenic photos. But, there is not one photo gallery in the small city of Coeur d' Alene. There are many art galleries but they will not display your photos. Strange. People and tourists like to see the wildlife and scenic photos, but they don't have much opportunity to do so.

Perhaps a good opportunity to fill a demand with your own local gallery dedicated to the outdoors and wildlife. Beautiful bird and photo. As a San Diego native, when I saw Osprey in your title, I was thinking of the tilt-prop troop transport utilized by the USMC. 😉

Thank you, donolea. If I wasn't old and in poor health and had the money, I would open up a photo gallery.
Fantastic shot! I love the look on his/her face, so intense.

Thank you, Country's Mama. We have quite a few of these Ospreys living in our area. Stay tuned this December when I start taking Bald Eagles photos. They migrate from northern Canada to feed on our spawning salmon.
