I suppose artist sometimes just do not think about what the heck they are painting.

Obviously Ray, the 'belly buttons' were an afterthought, the first cosmetic reconstruction, so they wouldn't be 'different' to others who may regard those without, as inferior and shower them with scorn and prejudice. It was a special moment when the docent at a local art museum pointed that out to my 7th & 8th students. All of a sudden the room got brighter... lol

That's why art should never be understood to be scientific. That the painters painted in "belly-buttons" is a gross irrelevancy to anything resembling serious thought.

I am an Atheistic, but if I understand the christian principles I was indoctrinated with at a young age, god loves all people, black, white, tall, short, even people with g**g*r hair, in his mercy he would support and defend any oppressed minority. Yes, god is gay friendly.

Of course God loves gay people, not real happy with their choice in lifestyles but He loves the person. BTW those Christians that run around the country holding signs that say God h**es this, that and the other will be judged by the same standard that they are judging others. Not a good idea for men and women to run around telling folks who God h**es. God h**es NO ONE.
