I want to share info about a product that has improved my IQ. The ProDot Shutter Button Upgrade. It is $7.95 for a set of two. I have no financial interest in the product. ProDot functions as a shock-absorber when attached to the shutter release button. The short video on the website below describes the benefits perfectly. I have garnered a lot of useful tips, answers and advice from UHH and just felt compelled to pass along sometlhing that I find a very beneficial product that helps me avoid camera movement at the critical point of engaging the shutter release button.

Thank you for sharing, but I would certainly not fall for something as useless as this device and certainly not shell out that kind of "dow" for a drip of plastic (that maybe cost one hundreds of a cent to produce).

Interesting idea.
I have noticed that a flush shutter button is more susceptible to inducing camera movement than a raised shutter button.

Thanks for posting this. I had one on my D7000 that I recently traded for a D7100. My hands are small and the ProDot helped me stay focused. I couldn't remember where I had gotten it and was missing it on the new camera. I'm placing an order.

Looks interesting, and certainly cheap enough if it was to become a throw away :)

Thanks for posting!

My fingers are large and I find the ProDot lets me depress the shutter release button without hitting the housing around it which jolts the camera. This little piece of plastic has eliminated the blur from camera movement especially when the adrenaline level is up because of a special or exciting photo op.

If you try 'em I don't think you will throw away. In fact, you may order a second set to have on hand just in case you lose one. That is the only potential weakness I see with these. It attaches with a self adhesive to the shutter release button that could come loose over time. I have had mine on for about a month and still secure. Packet includes an alcohol wipe to clean the button before installation.

I took both of mine off. When they get warm (not hot), they are inclined to slip off center. BTW, cleaning the residual glue off the shutter buttons was quite a chore.

Sorry to hear that. It is about to get hot in Phoenix so if that's a problem with these things it will be too bad because I like the way they work.
