I'm proud of her, and because of her, her kid may have a glimmer of hope. I wonder of he knows that... someday he will.

Good for her! She looked like a southern church lady on a mission swinging her purse.

G. W. H. Bush would be proud that there is at least one "point of light" in Baltimore.

Saul Alinsky on the other hand .......

I heard about that on the news. Too bad there aren't more parents like her.

She was interviewed yesterday and said it was her only son of six children and when she saw him in that hoodie, she lost it. She said she doesn't want him to grow up to be Freddie Gray.

Great Mama, great video!

This is the way parents were when I grew up. Too bad the "goverment" took away the rights of parents to"discipline" their children, calling it "child abuse." Yes, there are instances where children have been horribly abused by their parents and guardians. However, to make it damn near impossible to punish kids for their often criminal behavior, is "throwing the baby out with the bath-water." I'm 74 years old and my parents were strong believers in the "SPARE THE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD." They didn't hesitate to apply the rod when I misbehaved, and think I've turned out ok!! Problem today is: kids have absolutely no respect for anyone, not even themselves! My Dad died at the age of 97, and I still called him "SIR."

My praise to that mother! She apparently has good common sense! I hope her son has learned a lesson. I bet he catches hell from others about being scolded on national TV by his mother, which is good. Maybe next time he'll think twice before acting like an i***t! Way to go Mom!

I was raised in the same fashion and absolutely agree. The only we learned from the infliction of the "rod" was that there are consequences for bad behavior!!! My siblings and I all turned out just fine and none of us are "damaged" like the psychologist say kids become after a spanking.
