Does anyone know how to disable facial recognition in Lightroom 5? I don't photograph people usually, so don't need it. It does annoy me that it tries to act on other parts of my wildlife photos. It tried to recognize the leg of a lion I shot.
I have not been able to find anything via manual or internet to disable it.
Thanks!
Gary.
Thanks for the link. I watched it all and found no way to disable Facial Recognition. It was a good tutorial on using it though.
Now does anyone know how to Disable it?
Gary.
If you are using face recognition, you are most likely using it as a plug in. Just go to the top Left Side "File"
scroll down to Plug in Manage and you can remove it from there.
I don't have it on mine but what I have read its a plug in.
From the same website:
Disable automatic face indexing
You can disable face indexing in Catalog Settings. Do the following:
(Mac) Select Lightroom > Catalog Settings.
(Windows) Select Edit > Catalog Settings.
On the Metadata tab, deselect Automatically Detect All Faces In All Photos.
Close the Catalog Settings dialog box.

I checked and the only plug-ins are tether and social media ones. Nothing for facial recognition. I thought that was a built in feature. My LR is as originally installed. No add-ons, yet.
The Auto Facial Indexing feature in the Catalog Settings is already Off.
Gary.
How about another program that does face recognition. I am asking from what I have read while reading up on your problem. Adobe will interact with other programs that have face recognition.
You say your Have LR5 - are you on the CC if you are then you could have upgraded to LR6 which does have face recognition.
