Lantana was once a nightmare for grove owners in Florida before the advent of Roundup…I keep it as a large bush in my back yard…it blooms most of the year……..

It was bad for growers because lantana is such a prolific grower and was hard to control in the groves…but when the growers started to use the herbicide Roundup the problem was eradicated……….

Nice.

But I can't help offering a little photo feedback. I find the out of focus flowers in the right foreground distracting.

If you want them in the photo a higher f-stop would give you more depth of field so they are in focus too.

Otherwise I'd be inclined to crop them out of what you have. If you can't get a good crop that excludes them completely then I might clone out or at least darken whatever is left.

I really like the first one!

On the second one your point of focus is a bit far back. Notice how sharp the background leaf on the upper left is. If the focus was in the mid of the flower you'd have the whole flower in focus...more than in the front one.

Ahhh...I see. The leaf on the upper left is closer to us than the flower. I thought it was behind it. Something about the angle is still putting the flowers to the right out of focus. Check out the DOF calculator and consider it relative to the angle you are using.

The Exif data shows an f-stop of 0. Wonder what that's about?

I was using a manual lens (Star-D 1:4.5 80-205mm made in Korea) I previously used on my Pentax K-1000...perhaps that is why the data showed an f-stop of 0...........

The angle is slightly downward and the flowers to the right are a tad closer to the camera than the ones that are in focus…………
