Didn't you see any of the video of people standing around watching the big one several years ago and then realizing they needed to run?
Just recently on the hog we had a link to video of a guy and gal standing in a dry river bed in the desert doing video of an on coming flash flood. According to their sound track it wasn't the first time they had done this.
Some people need to be reminded that dangerous things are dangerous and they need to get away.

i suppose so,, but i see it as thinning the heard. Nobody has to tell ME to get the hell out of the way of a tsunami!!

While you and your neighbors may have every correct idea of what a tsunami is there are other people who may be visiting the area from inland states who have no idea. Remember the State of CA most likely did not think of your name when creating the sign.

Well, in Florida - as probably in California also - they have signs at the beach saying that there is "Active Marine Life" in the water. No s*** !

While most of us posting and viewing on this site certainly do not need any such warnings, sadly, in all of humanity, those signs may be a necessity

People that need those signs probably can't read so that negates any possible value they might have from the beginning.

I'm not advocating that we kill stupid people, but I do think it would be a good idea to remove all caution sings and labels then let the situation resolve itself.
