That's neat. I have never seen a round barn before and I was raised on and around farms.

Odd those are normal sash house windows. and with the electrical inlet as it is it appears like it was a dual purpose building and with rain gutters to boot. A house and a barn combined. Not unusual for Europe, and Minnysoda was populated mostly by Scandinavians. Curious.

The b&w download is beautiful! Losing the color really makes the architecture the star. Great lines, textures, tonal range.

I love both versions but the black and white is particularly well suited to this theme.

Very Nice! The theory was with pens either triangular or at least one corner near the center dropping hay down from the hay mow (storage) on the top floor would feed all the animals and it would not have to be moved around to different pens. During the mid 1800's a train of though was to build 8 sided (round) houses as more efficient. I was raised in one built in 1859, it never really caught on.

My Grandfather designed and built a round barn in Saskatchewan, it worked very well for feeding the cattle from the second floor and had many other work saving advantages.
