I was at the Egrist and Blur Heron colony today near my home and they are making their nests. Here are some of the pictures from today.

Beautifully done photogrl2. The three Great Egrets are exquisite, sharp, well exposed and composed. You caught the almost always graceful Great Blue Herons in a kind of elegant/unelegant moment. Made me smile. tThanks for posting. Where was this?

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I will be visiting this colony weekly for a bit now to try and catch the fledglings too. It gets amazing when you look up into a tree and see 10-15 nests and little ones poking out all over the tree. Last year with my 200mm I could not get them .
