Hi,

I think I damaged my Canon 7D by trying to insert the card the wrong way and bent one of the pins. Is there any service center close to Lubbock,TX or where could I send it to get it repaired and what would be the cost of such a repair?

Thanks. P.I.

I've done the same thing at a wedding dropped the card and in a hurry tried to put it in. I fixed it myself by removing the batteries and using a tooth pick and a small pair of scissors to straighten them out. then slowly inserted the cf card several times and no problems since. It did take me several hours but saved me a few hundred dollars. I dont know how bad yours are but I had 3 pins bent down pretty bad. Hope this helps

Just an idea, if you try to straiten the pins yourself, try using a 5mm mechanical pencil with the lead removed (just slide it over the pin as if inserting lead). I've never done it on a camera, but I have straitened out pins on CPUs using this method.
