What is the model number, what is it's load capacity? I do not see ball head on the picture.

I don't know what they've done to permanently shorten the center column. I would be leery of that. For the best stability you lower the center column all the way down. You should be able to raise and lower it. It seems like a good deal for $65 though.

It's just a tube that can be cut with a tubing cutter. Shortening it works well for getting down a little lower to the ground. There's usually a shorter column available for the tripods (there is for my 3221) but back when I was checking prices, the shorter column seemed to cost more than the standard length did! To me, at least back when I was contemplating doing this to my tripod, it made more sense to just shorten the tube. Then, if one wants to, they can buy a new, standard length column and have both.

Heck, just the legs are worth Bob's asking price IMO.

I cut off the bottom of the column so that the legs can splay out for close-to-the-ground macro. Fully extended and upright, the platform is still high enough for most photography requirements. And the stability is excellent with the head at rest on the tripod platform.

You had two questions; the first asked the model number; that was in the ad title: 190XproB with 804-RC2. The second was its maximum load capacity which I did not know, but you could have looked it up yourself since I listed the model number.

I corrected the description for the buyer -- pan/tilt, not ball head.

You're very welcome. Incidentally, if you are looking for an inexpensive, yet sturdy, backup tripod, I have just listed a Vanguard VT-180X with pan/tilt head (generic) and includes the standard quick-release boot. I think you should be able to find it here in the classifieds.
