Thank you, Robert. Let us know how the photos turn out with the extender.
Sunshine today, tried a few shots. No PP at all, cropped and converted to jpeg.
#1 1200 mm at about 38 feet It is a little soft, lens or my manual focusing, maybe both. I really miss the split circle and other focusing screens from my old film cameras.
#2 600 mm at about 9-10 feet with flash. Opps forgot to set shutter, only 1/60, should have been at 1/180. Bird flew in door of family room, now staying up as high as he can get so he misses the door which is about 18" lower than the ceiling. Really wish he would get out, keeping the door open it is getting a bit cool in the family room.

Thank you, Denny. I wish that were true, but it isn't.
These are amazing shots Regis, very sharp.
I tried the Tamron 150-600 on my 5DmIII and it didn't seem to autofocus well. My Canon 70-300 L works much better, so now I want the 100-400 II.

Thank you, idahoshooter. I have heard from other photographers who use the Canon 5D-III and the Tamron 150-600 lens and they get great auto-focusing results. Any way, your camera and the Canon 100-400 II will work great even with the 1.4x extender.
