Thank you! I struggled to achieve what I saw in others shots. Wasn't until I upgraded my equipment that I was able to get close to those pics. I don't know what you're using and yeah you have to know how to use it but after that better equipment helped for me.

First I upgraded from a D3100 last year to a D7100 -better- but still only had my 70-300mmVR. Then I got my Sigma 150-500mm and ,wow, I love this lens. Nothing comes close for 800$! All these shots were at the long end at 500mm ,f11. Also I think a full frame lens on a high resolution crop body helps too. Bob

Thanks for this info. I am using a D3200 with a Tamron 16 to 300 lens. This will have to do for me for quite some time, but someday, if possible I will consider upgrading.

The Sigma 150-500mm is going down in price now that they have released the 150-600mm. Its big and heavy compared to a 300mm but they all are. I can't say enough about this lens for those on a tight budget like myself. There are those who say you dont need longer than 300mm- just get closer- but that didn't work for me- 500mm did though. :) Bob

Would that lens work on the d3200?
