Sigma 50mm 1.4 EX DG HSM for Nikon

Anyone have any experience with this lens. I bought one and have had time today to go and shoot. So far the lens is perfect focus and fast, every time. Even at F1.4 the images are perfectly acceptable. F5.6 ~ F6.3 in Aperture Priority mode is what I use most of the time with excellent results. I have read on this site and elsewhere complaints of bad back and front focus but I do not see it. I am using this lens on a D300 and so far it is the best 50mm lens I have used to date and I have used the Nikon 50mm 1.4G and 1.8D. Maybe Sigma finally got it right or I got lucky and bought a good lens. To be fair the reviews and focus issues were from a couple years back.

This is an excellent picture of the dog, but it's too bad the background is so cluttered; it takes away from the subject.
