Orion 120mm Refractor f/8.6 1000mm
Canon 7D .6 crop and 2X Barlow makes me 3200mm I think.
Here's the scope and the result.
Don't it look sexy? ;)

Your mount and scope looks so much better than mine. Mine looks like it has been drug through a fisherman's net, with wires all over the place, to the point I would be embarrassed to show it in its present state. I do have an older photo of mine I could show, but it is a staged shot while in the house that I was using as a subject to practice light painting.

I like your setup, what is the weight of your optics, I would have thought that with a scope that size a single weight would not have been enough for balance. I like the looks of your aftermarket saddle, where did you happen to pick that up? I went with ADM for my saddle but mine is much shorter than yours, to the point that, since my main scope is extremely back heavy only half of my saddle is holding the OTA rail.

I bought a solar filter a while back but it was damaged, small holes from sitting in a drawer with other parts. I should get more material and repair it. I don't think I can get the level of resolution you are getting with your refractor.

Look at you and your new equipment. Nice shot of the Sun too.

The Rail is off of my 11" SCT and I just moved the rings from my old mount that came with this scope to this rail.
The business part of the setup is the Orion adapter that converts the Vixon to the wider rail. Orion has one in the clearance bin for quite a bit less than I paid through Amazon. That's what I get for not searching more.

This scope was my first and the resolution was its selling point. It does however have all sorts of interesting chromatic, shall we say, embellishments when shoot night photography?
I remounted it tonight so if I get a break I can try to play with it a bit more now that I have a more stable platform for it.

Thanks Craig. I converted a Microsoft 3000 camcorder to a possible video camera and hope to try it out tonight. Another reason I mounted up the 120mm..
I'm going to have cords all over the place before this is over.

Amen, I know what you mean by cords everywhere. Fortunately the AVX cords are out of the way. But the cameras have cords all over.
