Another image of Jupiter from the 15th

One more of Jupiter from the 15th. I apologize for the repetition but I wanted to post this follow-on image to illustrate how fast Jupiter rotates. This picture was done about 20 minutes after the previous picture and the Great Red Spot has rotated well into into view. That spot is a storm that has been raging on the planet for at least as long as we've been able to see the planet...since the 1600s. It's shrunk a little over the last few decades but it's still huge. About 2 Earths can fit inside it. Wind speeds are estimated to top 400mph. Jupiter has the fastest rotation velocity of any planet in our solar system at about 28,000 mph. Earth rotates at about 1,000mph. Jupiter, as large as it is, completes a rotation about every 10 hours!
I used a higher resolution setting on the webcam for this specific image just to see if it would make a difference. I think it did.

Great shot! Thanks for sharing! I don't have the gear to shoot these so it is a treat to see such nice work.
