Orange Variant

My best guess is that this is the orange variant of the House Finch. I know the pictures are poor, but this is the first one I have seen and would like for you to verify or correct my ID. For whatever reason, I have never been able to get a decent shot of a House Finch. Same feeders, same distance, same equipment, same shooter as shots I have taken with much better results -- but NEVER a decent House Finch -- so this guy must be one!

You're absolutely right, Sherry. Orange variant it is and a super shot!

Thanks, Donna. I was pretty sure it had to be that, but so many different kinds of birds look sooooo similar to me! I appreciate your confirmation.
