image won't go to Lr from Ps

After processing in Photoshop, I could usually just close Ps and the image would go to Lightroom.
I had to install Ps and Lr in a new computer and now the image won't go to Lr after I close or Save in Ps.
Do I need to go to preferences or something?

Did you send the image from Lightroom to Photoshop? Or just open it in Photoshop?

Yes, Lr to Ps, then back to Lr.

Yes, you do have to go to the Lightroom Preferences menu and select the external editing panel and be sure to check off the "stack with original" box down near the bottom of the panel.
