My 5 year-old took some photos of me a couple of weekends ago. He has very specific ideas of what he wants in the photos. He has a pretty good eye for photography.

Very nice photos!!
You can hold your head high - if you are the one who gave him the insight into photography, which I feel you are... (Are his parents involved in photography, too?)
You gave him a nice path to follow; but I'm sure you're aware that hopefully he might some day just pass you by and create a path of his own.
Again, congratulations, and lots of luck to him.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'll pass them on to my grandson.

My daughter (his mother) does quite well with photography as well. I taught her with an old Mamiya-Sekor camera. She still prefers how film looks but really cannot afford to take a lot of film shots. She gets excited when I get a new camera since that means she will probably get the camera I replaced.

Maybe during the summer I'll expose my grandson to the joys of developing his own film.

Your grandson took a nice set of pictures, well framed and sharp!

Is that folding camera you are holding a prop or do you still use it? I can remember my father using a similar Kodak camera in the late-40's to mid-50' which produced a negative about 3" x 5".

The folding camera is a German Balda from circa 1938 (I posted pictures of it here http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-293579-1.html). I just finished restoring it. In fact, the purpose for this photo shoot was to use it as a prop and also to take some 'period' shots with it. I will probably send the roll off to be processed in the next week. If everything comes out okay, I may develop future rolls at home.

I have another German folding camera (probably a few years older than the Balda) that I am in the process of restoring. I am running into a little difficulty with the shutter linkage.
