No idea why, but it wasn't for lack of beauty.
From yesterday evening late, fading light, in the rain. In other words, perfect conditions!

Very lovely photo, Alan. Love all the raindrops! My only complaint is that you didn't "store original" so I could get a better look.

Is the flower named Sweet Honesty? I am not familiar with it. You captured the raindrops well. Wish you had used a higher depth of field. The blurred leaf in foreground is a bit of a distraction. I have this problem my self and have begun to see if I can eliminate it on my closeups. Sometimes the blur is good. When in the background. It is a lovely flower.

Actually it is just "honesty" and as you might expect I did a number of compositions, several with just the bloom.

It is most often noticed in autumn when the seed sheath resembles a coin. Often referred to locally as "money plant" or "dollar flower." Because of the very weak light, intermittent heavy rain, location(tight against the base of a rock bluff) etc, I opted to forego any flash, but had to push the iso pretty hard to pull this one off handheld.

Thanks for checking it out.

Well thank you so much.
The ones you posted yesterday are a pretty tough act to follow! If(my what a large word) I had gotten to this location maybe an hour earlier I "might" have given you a run for your money.
Seriously though, I only hope folks enjoy "viewing" as much as I am challenged by "shooting."

Take care

Thanks to all for the kind comments. The rain has finally slacked off, but due to return in a couple days.

FYI to any prospective visitors to the area. Mayapple is out of the ground, but a week or so from blooming. Puccoon(attached photo from last year) is up and blooming but the oppotunites will be short lived. If you are interested in capturing this species, better run. First shoots of showy orchis are pushing through the leaves and ground litter. Bluebells are in abundance as are spring beauties. And on and on. Fine time to be in the mountains.

Such a beauty. I have Mayapples and they are in bloom but I have never see this plant. Thank you for sharing a great photo!

Thanks.
Things happen a bit later here due to elevation which happens to be between 2400' and 5780'. I spend a treat deal of time outdoors(not always photographing) and consequently encounter varieties that aren't as common.

This particlar bloom was just emerging and was one of the few that hadn't been pretty well beaten up by the rain. The resilence of youth I suppose.
