Had requests to take a stab at this one by two people.
So here is the original, just cropped and aligned and the color one I posted.
Have fun and play nice children.

I don't see any children around here Jerry, but I thought I'd whip out my signature color pencil sketch effect (with liberal doses of NIK Viveza and Color Efex Pro). I also did some tonemapping in Photomatix, cleaned up some distracting elements and used an Edit>Transform>Rotate to straighten up the number 4 on the RR car.
This was great fun. It's been a while since someone invited us into the sandbox to play.

I like it Bob.
Oh, the number is not straight, freight yard workers with stencils and paint didn't really make an effort to be neat and perfect. In the original the car itself is far from straight and level due to the angle of the shot.
As to children, on some threads I feel like I am observing a group of very ill mannered and poorly behaved brats who are late for their naps, tired and on a sugar high at the same time. Almost like my 15 years of teaching Jr High. Brings back nightmares. I can't decide to laugh, cry, cuss or all three. Yet it is like a bad movie, you keep watching hoping it will get better so you won't feel you wasted all your money except the popcorn.

I have to chuckle I see that Earnest (ebbote) published his own sketch as a collaboration with you. I call him Mr. FotoSketcher (or the FotoSketcher guru, I can't remember which). There was a time that I actually used Fotosketcher as part of my workflow, but changed in mid-stream when I was writing a tutorial on the Color Pencil Sketch effect. Now that I've practiced a bit more with it, I'm convinced I made the right move.

Being no sketcher, here's an alternative view: GIMP.

Beautifully done Bob. I have been playing with textures and grunge effects in photoshop. Going through a course online now. This again is well done and make the picture interesting.
Billy yours is also very good. I like the colors being brought out vivid and the contrast. These two renditions are art and I like the interpretations. I think art/photography has a place here on UHH.

Here's my shot at it, something a little different.

Thanks for taking part. Yet another way of seeing it that looks good.
