Hi there,

I took some pictures in the Manassas Battlefield and would like to share these pictures with you. Critiques are very welcome!
I used HDR [Photoshop CS5] for the first 2 pictures.

the canon works better but seems a tad overcooked - it would appear HDR does not work reflected light so well....

For some reason, I love the power of HDR on the Skies, However, I found it difficult to manipulate on the other objects. But I am getting better at it.
Thank you for your feedback.

Don't get discouraged--it takes time to master. Also not all images work well in HDR. The trick is to get all things working for you at the same time. In some cases while HDR won't work one of the images will have better exposure than the one you would have taken with normal exposure. Thus I shoot HDR in quite a few cases just to handle a tricky exposure problem. I don't know which HDR program you are using but the one I have has a setting to "Tone Map" a single image which will give you some of the results like true HDR. Good luc--you will find out shortly which work the best for you.

Thanks for the encouragement. I use Photoshop CS5 HDR toning for Single shoot and Merge to HDR for multiple shoots

CS-5 was a real improvement over CS4. I didn't like CS4 for HDR so that is why I bought into the other program. When I have tried CS5 it works quite well.
