One thing I'm not, is great with LR which is why I have someone do LR or Photoshop. I do have some old photos I would like to move into LR. If someone can give me directions I would appreciate it very much

Your photos are not "in" Picasa, they are on your hard drive - you only need locate them and import them into Lightroom.

You will need to know where they are. You can right click on the thumbnail in Picasa. You will then see a side car menu come up, click on Locate on disk. It will bring up the file location showing you where it is in windows explorer along with what directory.
Open Light Room and select Import files. Work your way to that directory and just click on an image, all the images in that directory should be brought in the selection grid. Select or Deselect the photos you want.
He needs to find out how to to take them from Picasa into LR ?
Ok, how do I find them on the hard drive. I see them in Picasa

Hopefully you kept all your images in one folder, and not haphazardly scattered across many many folders that Picasa found for you and kept secret.

Again - your right click on the image in Picasa, a side car menu will come up. Scroll down to "Locate on Disk" click on it. It will show you where it is.

Just a note: If you want you can also click on the "Open With" and bring it right into Light Room with having to go threw any other steps. You might have to set up if you don't see it in the when you click on "Open With" . You can add it to your default Programs buy using the Browse and setting it up that way.
You can also highlight (choose) a few photos and drag them on top of the Lightroom icon..... that will import them and open Lightroom.
You can also go to Import in the Library section of LR, (click on Import at the bottom left) on the next screen you will see files on your drive there (on the left column) - if you click on those folders you can find and open the ones that have your pictures. They will then come in to the import area in the center section of the Import area. You can select and unselect the ones you want or don't want to bring in to LR and click import, and bring them in that way.

Easier to open Folder Manager and see a complete picture of where all folders are that Picasa is watching.

Picasa doesn't keep secrets - certainly not about what folders it is watching for changes/additions.
Click on the Picasa|Tools menu, select Folder Manager... and a dialog box opens and shows you exactly "where your photos are" and allows you to manage "watched" folders.
