I'm curious about how you write the date for your image folders, if you use that system. There seem to be two popular methods, with and without dashes.

For example, today's date could be 2015-04-13 (or underscores_) or 20150413.

I use the dashes. How about the rest of you?

I seldom use any special characters, so it ends up 20150413 for me. If I went out shooting some flowers today, that shoot would go in a folder named 20150413-Spring Flowers. However, the images still get worked, complete with labels, stars and keywords. It's entirely probable that some of them would end up in a Collection.

I find them easier to read at a glance.

I use (today) 13 Apr 2015 - Around House

or what ever/where-ever I was. Makes it so easy to find stuff.

I think using Key Words in LR is the best method, but I'm not about to go back an add words to 30k images.

I've always used a system of folders for subjects, like Home, Dogs, Cars, etc. I also use the date system, depending on the situation. I prefer having the year first to make sorting easier.

Also, using year-month-date format sorts them correctly.
