I posted the doorway shot of this pose earlier, but I think these two images work better as a wedding book page.

Hi Greg. You didn't ask for any kind of a response so I apologize if I am out of bounds here. But, part of our branding is custom wedding album design. And I do mean custom in that we do not use canned templates. Well maybe a few "home canned" ones. So, here are my thoughts.

If the album size (anything 10x10 or larger) will allow, I would put the two images on a single page (side). Perhaps crop the full length so B&G are on left edge with dead space on right with large margin and inset reflection shot, offset, on lower right. You might try swapping images with this layout. The reflection one lends itself to a narrow, vertical crop. Possibly, a screened back version of one as a background and the other as a half page composite would work.

Of course, these suggestions are very subjective and only meant to stimulate your own creative juices. IMHO, you have two images that you can have a lot of creative fun with here.

Hey Greg. I was going to post that I liked the original as one image first, but I went back and looked at this page again, and have to admit, I really like it. Funny how at first glance you want to just stick with the first opinion, but once you glance away, and look back, something takes on a life of it's own.

I like both versions, but now I actually like the album page a little better. I guess if you give me long enough, I may change my mind again....or not...but maybe.

Thanks for looking and all your advice. I don't have a lot of experience with wedding book layouts but thought I could express this moment better
Using two images, The one of the bride saying something to the groom that I hope would stir a wonderful emotion in the groom every time he sees this page while at the same time using the reflection of a different image to add to the page layout. I really appreciate your help on the placement of these on the page when I get back on this project I will try your layout idea.
I have my Step Daughters wedding in May and I plan on making her a wedding book so everything I learn will be put to use soon.

You may change your mind again when I re arrange the page the way
photodon suggested. Thanks for looking. I think this section is going to start taking off soon with everyone starting shoot again, I can't wait to see what everyone is doing so I can learn more.

I think your thoughts on this are right on. Just keep playing with the layout until you are happy with it. It is all about experimenting and having fun. Of course, some pros will tell you that this is financially bad, but take the fun out and then what is the point. Money?? Well ya, BUT!!!

I would like to tell you that eventually you will get good enough that your first iteration is the keeper. Over here, that is not true. Terri is the artist/perfectionist so the day that she is happy with her first design is the day that hell freezes over. I am the technician so I rarely hit on the first try and Terri is always there with suggestions. 9 out of 10 of her suggestions are big improvements and the 10th one gets the nod just to avoid the "artist's bruised ego syndrome" thing.

Speaking of egos...There are a lot of good reasons, business wise, to push custom wedding albums over other products. But, I must admit, creating an archival artistic album is a great ego booster. There is nothing like watching the B&G look through their album the very first time.

PS. I am almost done with our new website. Unlike previous ones, it will have a ton of wedding pics and album pages on display. I will post the site on here when that happens. You may find a little inspiration there and I am always looking at other pro sites for inspiration.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new website.
 I had to get mine all done at once, and got burned out. I want to go in soon, and update with much newer photos, and I really like the idea of adding album pages. Custom printed albums are still the hardest sell in my area. Not sure if it is everywhere, but in my humble opinion, a few years down the road, I think the couple is so much more likely to leave a nice wedding album out, than to still have wedding photos hanging on a wall. My fully grown kids, and now my grandkids still like to get my album out and look through ours. (which is just an album of proofs, but at least it is accessible)
